These barrettes, made of thin leather (or leather-like material) and measuring about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide, are quite attractive as well as practical for people with long hair. Each one in the set differs in color and designs, three of them with a metallic sheen — gold, silver, and copper. The other ones look like fabric, one a rich purple, the others dark green and black. The wooden sticks that hold them in place are 5 inches long. When the stick is inserted to secure the barrette in the hair (most often to be attached at the crown of the head), the barrette would be partially folded to hold hair within a 2.5 to 3.5 inch wide dimension. So although this might not be ideal for people with extremely thick hair, they might modify how much hair to hold within the stick, for example at the end of a braid or at the side of the head.
